SF-Chief Enterprise Architect

 

As Chief Enterprise Architect you will lead a team of software architects and contractors to drive the Consensus Product Architecture, Design and Evolution.  You will participate in the complete SDLC process to guarantee flexibility, availability, high performance and security.

WHAT YOU WILL BE LIVING AND BREATHING EVERY SINGLE DAY:

80% Software Architecture

  • Drives innovation and best practices into the technology team
  • Work collaboratively with the product development, engineering and IT teams to turn product and technology strategy into executable plans, including system and deployment architecture
  • Effectively communicate the architecture direction, lead the application design and review its implementation
  • Lead the team to define a solution blueprint for an omni-channel platform that would provide a foundation for activating connected products supported by multiple guest add-on services and product vendors
  • Work with Target’s global engineering team to translate architecture into detail design and ensure the successful execution of defined initiatives
  • Participate in code reviews of core platform modules

 20% People Management/Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of architects to define the software architecture for Consensus’ enterprise omni-channel platform
  • Staff and manage contractors as needed to implement the software architecture for the platform
  • Partner with Consensus and Target Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select and hire team members
  • Mentor, grow and develop the careers of all direct reports
  • Provide coaching, training, and opportunities for growth to improve skills
  • Ensure team members have the skills and resources to get things done
  • Set clear, meaningful, challenging, and attainable goals and expectations that are aligned with company
  • Empower employees to make decisions and to take responsibility for their jobs and goals
  • Identify the potential in staff and take opportunities to apply and develop that potential
  • Lead by example, set standards for professional behavior, stay abreast of new technologies and news

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:

Desired Requirements:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Year’s actual Work Experience in equivalent role:  10+ years 

Year’s Management experience:  10+ years

Additional or Specific Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering 

 Job Specific Skills: 

  • Large distributed mission critical solutions leveraging Java platform and open-source technology
  • 5+ years in a lead architect role
  • Deep technical understanding of Service Oriented Architectures leveraging Java and MySQL in a distributed, highly-available, and high-volume transactional systems that are business critical
  • Asynchronous message-based integration across heterogeneous systems
  • Knowledge of eCommerce solutions, POS, Billing or Order Management systems
  • Architecting and delivering solutions at internet scale, within an Agile Delivery model
  • Architect solutions that balance project timeline, budget, non-functional requirements and future state direction
  • Knowledge of Security/Data Protection, Network Management, Systems Management & Monitoring preferred
  • Knowledge of retail wireless sales and activation industry, wireless activation systems, service based integration with wireless carriers, customer support and fraud systems preferred
  • Significant business knowledge and have one or more areas of concentrated technical expertise
  • Strong communicator with the ability to represent Consensus and influence program technical objectives with peers across the industry
  • Working knowledge of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
  • Has a high level understanding of operating systems and foundation architecture
  • Significant business knowledge in wireless activation areas of concentrated technical expertise in which they concentrate
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams
